The next Africa Innovation Hubs Web Gathering is at 2.30pm GMT on Tuesday 11th December 2012 where we will be exploring ways to engage women and girls in technology, Aida Opoku Mensah Director, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa: ICT, Science and Technology Division will be talking about the obstacles to participation faced by women and girls and also the story of her own journey to become a leader in her field.
We will also have short presentations from the Tech Hubs on initiatives and activities that they have carried out to engage women and girls which will feature Barbara Birungi of WITUganda, Judith Owigar of Akirachix in Kenya, Oreoluwa Somolu of W.Tec Nigeria and Catheringrose Barretto of The Kinu, Tanzania.
